Rosh Hashanah – 5782
Sundown, Monday, September 6, 2021,
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
FEAST OF TRUMPETS – YOM TERUAH

It will soon be a new Hebraic year. We are in the final days of 5781. The New Year is announced with the blowing of the shofar. The trumpet blast announced God’s sacred times. The feasts of the Lord are special appointments on God’s calendar. They are important times to God. He specifically set aside certain days which He wanted His people to spend time with Him.
“On the first day of the seventh month, you are to hold a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This will be a day for you to sound the trumpets.
Numbers 29:1
During the final month of the Hebrew calendar, Elul, the shofar (ram’s horn) is blown every day. The blast is intended to awaken and call God’s people to return/repent (shuv) through repentance (teshuvah).
Elul is the month before Holy Days of Awe (the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur). Practicing teshuvah during Elul is a way of preparing one’s heart for the holiest day set aside for fasting and prayer before the Lord.
Yom Kippur is considered the holiest day on the Hebrew calendar. The ten days known as the High Holy Days begin on Rosh Hashanah (Tishri 1) and culminates on Yom Kippur (Tishri 10). [Also known as: the Days of Awe, and the Ten Days of Repentance/Aseret Yemei Teshuvah”]
Today, August 29, 2021 is Elul 21. Tishri 1 (Sept. 7, 2021) is the first full day of the Hebraic year 5782. The inaugural day of the Hebrew year is announced with a great trumpet blast. That blast is expected to awaken those who are in spiritual slumber. This is a time to arise and be revived!
But Your dead will live; their lifeless bodies will rise up again! You who sleep in the dust, get up and shout for joy! The dew of a new day will wash you glistening fresh, and the earth will push forth those who had passed before.
Isaiah 36:19 VOICE
Yet everything exposed by the light is being made visible, for everything made visible is light. This is why it says, “Wake up, O sleeper! Rise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you.”
Ephesians 5:13-14 TLV
The New Year is ushered in with a hundred blasts of the shofar.
Yom Teruah, is all about the blast of the shofar.
Tishri 1 is Yom Teruah (Day of the Blast). It is also Rosh Hashanah (literally: Head of the Year). In Jewish communities the shofar is traditionally blown one hundred times on Rosh Hashanah. The blast of the shofar not only announces the New Year, it is also a call to assembly, and an alert to make one ready.
The LORD also said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly announced by trumpet blasts.
Leviticus 23:23-24
Every year I spend the month of Elul seeking the Lord specifically for insight and God’s direction for the year ahead. I tune my heart by spending time in the presence of God with focused and intentional prayer. God never fails. His Spirit washes over me, renewing and reviving and preparing me. I also spend the time reflecting upon how the Lord has led me during the preceding year. I find these practices encouraging and refreshing. I am encouraged and strengthened. By the His Spirit, as I can look back, I can see how the hand of God guided me even during the times I questioned whether I was doing the right thing or not.
Repent therefore, and turn, so that your sins may be put away when the time of refreshing comes, which we will have from the presence of the Lord,
Acts 3:19 NMB
I would encourage you to take some time over these last days of Elul to spend some time in the refreshing presence of the Lord. Ask Him to strengthen you. Ask Him to hold you up and keep you secure. Seek Him, you will find Him. He will make Himself known. He reveals Himself to those who seek Him. We have a choice to go through life in our own strength or empowered by the strength of His mighty Spirit. This is a time of seeking God for wisdom and direction.
I pray the refreshing and reviving Spirit of the Living God renew you, sustain you and breathe in you the fresh breath of life.
Awakening Blast
Described as a blast intended to awaken the people of God from spiritual slumber, the Yom Teruah blast is thought to be connected with the last trump, or the great trump; a prophetic picture of the Lord’s return and the raising of the dead.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:31 KJV
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:42 KJV
For the Lord himself will appear with the declaration of victory, the shout of an archangel, and the trumpet blast of God. He will descend from the heavenly realm and command those who are dead in Christ to rise first. Then we who are alive will join them, transported together in clouds to have an encounter with the Lord in the air, and we will be forever joined with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 TPT
We live in exciting and pivotal times in the body of Christ.
While I don’t believe that this is the time of the Lord’s return I do believe it is a time to seek God concerning what He is currently doing in the earth, among His people.
God is in the process of preparing and restoring His people. He has already begun a new thing in our generation. Do we see it?
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19 NLT
God is orchestrating events in the lives of His people to bring healing and restoration. The Lord has graciously given me an insightful glimpse into His restorative plan which I will be sharing in the days and weeks ahead beginning with a booklet: 5782 A Prophetic Picture.
In my book 5782, A Prophetic Picture, I will be sharing insights the Lord is releasing concerning the upcoming Hebraic year 5782. (Coming Soon)
We have much to look forward to in the upcoming year as God continues to prepare and strategically align His people to accomplish their divine destiny.
